A podiatrist is a medical practitioner specializing in the care and treatment of the feet, ankles, and lower extremities. Podiatrists collaborate with nurses, X-ray technicians, medical assistants, and other healthcare professionals (such as orthopedic surgeons and physical therapists) to diagnose and manage conditions affecting the lower limbs.

Ada Chiu D.Ch. is a dedicated Chiropodist with experience in treating and preventing diseases and dysfunctions of the foot. Ada graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Human Biology. She then received her Chiropody training at the Michener Institute for Applied Health Sciences in Toronto, where she underwent 3 years of practical training in podiatric medicine, biomechanics, orthotic therapy, anesthesia and nail surgery. Ada is a registered member with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario.

As a primary foot care provider, Ada believes that a Chiropodist or Podiatrist can help children, adults and seniors with a variety of foot problems. In children, early detection of many foot problems such as flat feet can prevent later knee arthritis and scoliosis. The geriatric population can also benefit from Chiropody or Podiatry services for treatment of painful lesions resulting from the effects of diabetes, arthritis or other anomalies.
